Spoon Dropped Donut Holes

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 3-4 minutes each batch

Materials:

  • Vegetable oil (amount will vary depending on size of pot)
  • 2 cups all purpose flour (sifted)
  • 1 tsp baking powder (sifted)
  • 1 cup plain greek yougurt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (additional needed for dusting)
  • 1 tbs vodka

Process:

  1. In a pot or skillet with high sides add in vegetable oil going about 1 inch up and allow the oil to get nice and hot. I always throw in a little piece of dough and see if it’s ready before I start frying. If the piece of dough starts to get bubbles around it then you know the oil is ready.
  2. In a mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, Greek yogurt, eggs and powdered sugar.
  3. Using a whish and then a spatula mix well to combine. The dough will be a bit tough and sticky.
  4. Add in 1 tbs of vodka and mix well to incorporate. This will help to keep the donuts from soaking up a ton of oil.
  5. Once the oil is hot take two spoon and dip them slightly into the oil (watch video for visual). Taking the same spoons scoop a tbs of the dough and place it in the hot oil.
  6. Keeping the heat on medium fry for 2 minutes or so on each side or until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel lined sheet.
  8. Once the donuts cool slightly top with powdered sugar and ENJOY!

    1. Haha I usually save the alcohol for drinking but in this recipe it helps to keep the donuts from soaking up too much oil 🤣
