Today Is The Day!!!

So today is the big day! The day that I have been dreading for the last eleven and a half months. I am now officially 31!!! My world is now officially over! Just kidding!!

Enough of being Debbie Downer, time to be Hopeful Helen! I am going to think of the positive things that I have accomplished in life and set my goal for the next 12 months. I will set my intention right here and now, with all of you as my witnesses (so to speak that is). I will do everything in my power to make 31 an amazing year. I will focus on the one thing that I have been wanting to do and that is The Lazy Girls Kitchen. I have literally prepped for the moment where I can share my passion with the world, my entire life. While most little girls dreamt of becoming a princess or a singer, my dream has literally always been to have everyone eating and making my food!! For people to look at me and correlate that with a happy time in their lives. When they can remember the occasion, by remembering what food they ate!

You see, I find that food brings everyone together. Their is so much going on in this world that food is an escape for me. The kitchen has always been, and is still to this day my  happy place. Broken heart? Cook something sweet. Not feeling well? Cook something comforting. Family gathering? Cook something special. No matter the occasion or problem, cooking has always been a sort of solution and escape for me. This is why I put all of my eggs into one basket. The cooking basket. I decided that dreaming about something isn’t going to make it come true, instead I need to work at it and make it come true, realizing along the way that it is going to take a lot of hard work and dedication.

So after this blog I promise their will be no more Debbie Downer, and only Hopeful Helen. The girl that is determined to make her childhood dream come true, of one day sitting at Williams Sonoma or Barnes and Nobles signing her cookbook for little girls and boys, who one day hope to have the same impact on people, as she does. Who wait in line for hours just to grab a picture or an autograph, and I promise you that when and if that time comes, I will be there as long as I need to make sure your dreams are realized. I will be forever grateful, for those who have supported and encouraged me, no matter how much or how little success I achieve. Because at the end of the day I have done what I set out to do, and that is to share with the world, what food means to me!  So here is to 31! To making my dream come true and to sipping champagne on a gondola in Italy!
