Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 45-50 minutes
Materials:
- 28 oz. can of tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion
- 2-3 garlic cloves
- 4-5 leaves of fresh basil (optional)
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tbsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tbsp. dried oregano
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
Process:
- In a medium sized soup pot add in the vegetable oil. Leaving the heat on medium/high, add in the onion.
- Cook, stirring often until fully cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add in the garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add in the tomato sauce.
- Season with sugar, dried basil, fresh basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Mix well and bring to a simmer.
- Lower the heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 35-40 minutes.
- Add to your favorite pasta and ENJOY!
