Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 30-40 minutes
Materials:
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 green pepper chopped
- 1 onion chopped
- 4-5 garlic cloves diced
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- ½ tbsp. ketchup
- ½ tsp distilled white vinegar
- ½ tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 3-4 tbsp. vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Rolls of your choice
Process:
- In a medium sized mixing bowl add in the brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, yellow mustard and tomato sauce. Mix well and set aside.
- In a skillet with high sides or medium sized dutch oven add in the vegetable oil.
- Add in the ground turkey and cook, breaking the turkey up and stirring often.
- Season with salt and pepper and once fully cooked through, add in the onion and pepper.
- Cook for several minutes stirring often until the onion is translucent and fully cooked through.
- Add in the garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Pour the sauce in and mix well.
- Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Let sit for a few minutes, place on your favorite rolls and ENJOY!
