Materials:
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 large red onion chopped
- 5 garlic cloves diced
- 2 jalapeño peppers diced
- 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
- 1 can red kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 1 cup larger beer
- 2 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp marjoram
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp chicken bouillon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
Process:
- In a large soup pot or Dutch oven add in the olive oil. Keeping the heat on medium/ high add in the onion.
- Season with a pinch of salt and cook for a few minutes until the onions soften.
- Add in the jalapenos and garlic and cook for about 60 seconds or until garlic is fragrant.
- Add in the ground turkey and cook breaking the turkey apart with a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Once the turkey is fully cooked through season with some salt and pepper.
- Add in the tomato paste and mix well to incorporate.
- Season with chili powder, cumin, marjoram, oregano, and cayenne pepper.
- Add in the larger beer and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring often.
- Add in the tomato sauce, sugar and chicken bouillon.
- Add in the beans, mix well to combine and then simmer for 45-60 minutes.
- Plate (top with cheddar cheese optional) and ENJOY!
