Musubi Inspired Bowl

For many things in this recipe I did not include measurements. 1 can of SPAM typically makes about 4 servings/ bowls. Add in the desired amount of rice and seaweed so that you make this musubi bowl to your liking.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Materials:

  • 1 can SPAM cubed
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp. neutral oil
  • 1 tsp furikake
  • Jasmine rice cooked
  • Seaweed to taste

Process:

  1. In a small mixing bowl combine the sugar, low sodium soy sauce and oyster sauce. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a skillet add in the oil.
  3. Keeping the heat on medium/high add in the cubed SPAM.
  4. Cook 5-6 minutes stirring often, until the spam turns slightly golden.
  5. Add in the prepared sauce and cook, stirring often for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  6. In a bowl add in the desired amount of rice and top with the furikake (I also top with soy sauce but that’s optional).
  7. Add in the cooked SPAM and a few sheets of seaweed.
  8. ENJOY!
