M&M Cookies

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 9-11 minutes


  • 2 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup and 6 tbs. butter at room temperature
  • 2 tbs. vegetable shortening at room temperature
  • 1 tsp. of vanilla paste (if you do not have vanilla paste just use vanilla extract)
  • 3/4 cup of packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups of M&m’s


  1. Pre-heat your over to 375 degrees
  2. In a small bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt
  3. In a larger mixing bowl combine the butter, vegetable shortening, both types of sugar, and vanilla paste or vanilla extract (I suggest using a hand held whisk and spatula to help the process along.  I think the key to a yummy cookie is to not over mix the batter which is why I do it all by hand.)
  4. Add in one egg at a time and incorporate well after each egg
  5. Add in the dry ingredients gradually
  6. Once everything is well incorporated add in the M&M’s
  7. Using a small ice cream scoop or a tablespoon  drop dollops of cookie dough onto your cookie sheet (you can line the cookie sheet with parchment paper for easier clean up)
  8. Bake 9-11 minutes or until the edges are nice and golden brown and then remove from the oven
  9. Set aside to cool for a few minutes and then Enjoy!!!
