  2. Add in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. Give the mixture a good stir and add in the basil leaves.
  3. Bring the sauce up to a simmer and turn the heat down to low. Cover and cook for 15 minutes while you prep the meatballs.

Meatball Materials:

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1/2 red onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 3 basil leaves chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup of shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • 2 tbs.of olive oil

Meatball Process:

  2. Once the mixture is combined make golf sized balls and place them on a plate dusted with bread crumbs.
  3. In a large skillet with high sides add in the olive oil and heat the oil up. Turn the heat down to medium and add in the meatballs cooking for about 30 seconds or so on each side. All you are looking for is to get some nice color on the meatball and for them to set enough before going into the crockpot.
  4. Once the meatballs are all set add them into your crockpot and cover them with the homemade sauce. Cook them for 5 hours and 30 minutes on high or 8 hours on low.
  5. Serve with pasta, bread, or wraps, and ENJOY!!!
