Delicious Dinner Rolls

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 20-25 minutes

Materials:

  • 1 ounce fresh yeast or 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 4 cups flour sifted
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • ½ warm milk
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil

Fresh Yeast Process:

  1. In a large mixing bowl add in the sifted flour and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a measuring cup add in the warm milk, warm water, sugar and fresh yeast.
  3. Mix until the yeast has mostly dissolved.
  4. Make a small well in the middle of the flour and pour the yeast mixture into the flour.
  5. Using a wooden spoon mix to combine the ingredients together.
  6. Add in the vegetable oil and continue to mix. Once the dough starts to thicken feel free to remove from the bowl and knead the dough by hand.
  7. Knead until the flour is fully incorporated. Place back into the bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Set aside in a warm place to rise for about an hour or until the dough doubles in size.
  8. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and prep a cookie sheet with some parchment paper.
  9. Flour a clean work surface and place the dough on the flour. Roll the dough out into a log and separate the dough into 8 equal pieces (or as equal as you can get them).
  10. Roll the dough into balls and place on the baking sheet. Taking a knife or dough scrapper indent the roll in the middle.
  11. Set aside to rise until the oven preheats and then bake for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and fully cooked through.
  12. Let cool completely and ENJOY!
