Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 20-25 minutes
Materials:
- 1 ounce fresh yeast or 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 4 cups flour sifted
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- ½ warm milk
- ½ cup warm water
- 3 tbsp. vegetable oil
Fresh Yeast Process:
- In a large mixing bowl add in the sifted flour and salt. Mix well and set aside.
- In a measuring cup add in the warm milk, warm water, sugar and fresh yeast.
- Mix until the yeast has mostly dissolved.
- Make a small well in the middle of the flour and pour the yeast mixture into the flour.
- Using a wooden spoon mix to combine the ingredients together.
- Add in the vegetable oil and continue to mix. Once the dough starts to thicken feel free to remove from the bowl and knead the dough by hand.
- Knead until the flour is fully incorporated. Place back into the bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Set aside in a warm place to rise for about an hour or until the dough doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and prep a cookie sheet with some parchment paper.
- Flour a clean work surface and place the dough on the flour. Roll the dough out into a log and separate the dough into 8 equal pieces (or as equal as you can get them).
- Roll the dough into balls and place on the baking sheet. Taking a knife or dough scrapper indent the roll in the middle.
- Set aside to rise until the oven preheats and then bake for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Let cool completely and ENJOY!
Instant Yeast Process:
