Seared Cod

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 8-10 minutes

Materials:

  • 4 cod fillets
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 4 garlic cloves diced
  • 4 tbsp. unsalted butter melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Process:

  1. Season the cod with a sprinkle of lemon juice. Set aside while you make the garlic butter sauce.
  2. In a small mixing dish add in the unsalted butter, garlic, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  3. Pat the fish dry lightly with clean paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a skillet add in the olive oil. Keeping the heat on medium/ high let the pan heat up.
  5. Add in the cod and cook 3-5 minutes or until the bottom is nicely seared.
  6. Flip the fish and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Pour the butter garlic sauce over the fish and cook for an additional 60-90 seconds.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, plate and ENJOY!
