Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 5-8 minutes
Materials:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 10 oz. bag mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup large marshmallows
- 8 cups rice crispy cereal
- 3 Hershey’s chocolate bars
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1/2 cups chocolate eggs crushed (Cadbury is my favorite to use)
- Variety of peeps
Process:
- In a soup pot over medium heat add in the unsalted butter.
- Stir using a spatula or wooden spoon as the butter melts.
- Add in the mini and large marshmallows. Mix until a majority of the mini marshmallows have melted.
- At this point if you are using food coloring add it in and mix quickly (optional).
- Remove from heat and add in the rice crispy cereal. Mix well to coat all the cereal in the marshmallow.
- Pour into a prepared greased pan.
- Smooth out and set aside to cool.
- Once cooled melt the chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave at 30 second increments.
- Drizzle over the rice crispy treats using half of the chocolate.
- Dip the peeps in the remaining melted chocolate and place randomly all over the rice crispy treats.
- Sprinkle the chocolate eggs over the chocolate drizzle and set aside to allow everything to set.
- Cut, plate and ENJOY!
