Sausage & Onion Pizza

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 20-25 minutes

Materials:

  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage (casings removed)
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil (divided)
  • 1 store bought pizza dough (you can always make your own as well)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese to taste (fresh or shredded are both fine)

Process:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and grease a round pizza pan with some neutral oil. Set aside until needed.
  2. In a skillet add in 2 tbsp. olive oil and the chopped onion. Keeping the heat on medium/ high cook the onion until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. In a separate pan add in the remaining 2 tbsp. of oil. Add in the sausage and cook over medium/high heat, breaking the sausage up. Cook until fully cooked through and golden brown. Set aside.
  4. On a lightly floured service roll out your pizza dough to your desired thickness.
  5. Top with a layer of pizza sauce, leaving about 1/2 inch border for the crust.
  6. Top with desired amount of cheese and then evenly distribute the cooked onion and sausage.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until crust is golden and crispy.
  8. Let sit for a few minutes before cutting in.
  9. Plate and ENJOY!
