Slow Cooked Pork and Onions

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 1.5- 2 hours

Materials:

  • 1 lb. pork loin cut into ½ inch thick slices
  • 5-6 large onions chopped largely
  • 1 tbsp. dried marjoram 
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil (amount will vary depending on size of skillet)

Materials:

  1. Season both sides of the pork slices with salt, pepper, marjoram and paprika.
  2. In a skillet with high sides add in enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Let the pan heat up and add in the pork in a single layer.
  3. keeping the heat on medium high let the pork cook until the bottom becomes a golden brown (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Flip the pork and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Turn the heat down to low.
  6. Top the pork with the chopped onions.
  7. Cover with a lid and continue to cook on low heat for 1.5-2 hours stirring once in a while.
  8. Let the meat rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
